One Voice during the Polish Presidency
APPROACH
The One Voice for European Music initiative continued under the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union with a six-month cooperation between 20 European music organisations. Building on its launch during the French EU Presidency in 2021, One Voice aims to establish a comprehensive policy strategy for the music sector, supported by ambitious EU-level funding mechanisms. During each rotating Presidency, a representative panel of national and European organisations lays the groundwork for new recommendations. In this context, the Bydgoszcz Music Summit, hosted by Bydgoszcz UNESCO City of Music, enabled the launch of a collaborative drafting process. Using a bottom-up method, the resulting document sets out a shared vision and concrete policy recommendations for the sector. It addresses priority topics such as funding, mobility, digital policy, education, AI, working conditions, and more. The document was officially presented at Music Week Poland in Warsaw on June 26.

This presentation marked the culmination of six months of collaborative work, bringing together signatories, music sector representatives, and cultural policymakers to discuss the comprehensive strategy. The document outlines ambitious policy recommendations to reinforce the European music sector, addressing critical areas such as funding, artificial intelligence, working conditions, and cultural diversity, ensuring a sustainable and vibrant future for music across the EU.
